Glazing class

Glazing is where the piece changes character. You choose bisqueware, learn what the glaze will do, and make choices that will show up after the final firing.

$60 for the first piece, extra pieces priced separately

Best for: People who want a finished piece without starting on the wheel, or beginner students coming back to glaze their work.

Dates paused

No classes are currently scheduled.

The next beginner, open studio, and glazing dates will be announced on Instagram first.

How it works
01

Pick your bisqueware

You choose from the pieces available at booking. The starting set is usually Keep Cup, Matcha Bowl, or Mug.

02

Plan the surface

We talk through colour, coverage, dipping, layering, and what is likely to happen in the kiln.

03

Glaze it properly

You clean the piece, apply glaze, tidy the foot, and get it ready for the final firing.

What you might make
  • Glazed keep cups
  • Matcha bowls
  • Mugs
  • Finished beginner pieces
Good to know
  • Glaze colours look different before firing.
  • The final result always has some kiln magic in it.
  • You can glaze more than one piece if there is time and space.

Questions
Do I need to know how to throw?+

No. You can glaze available bisqueware without doing a wheel class first.

Can I glaze my beginner class piece?+

Yes, if you booked the beginner plus glazing combo or we arrange a glazing date for that piece.

Will it look exactly how I expect?+

Not exactly. Glaze changes in the kiln. I will help you make good choices, but the firing always has a say.
