From people who actually took the class.
“Walked in never having touched clay. Walked out with a bowl I actually liked — and a real feel for what the wheel was doing.”
“Bodhi breaks it down in a way that makes everything click. Small group, plenty of help, no pressure — learnt heaps in one session.”
“The best part of teaching is the first time someone pulls a wall up clean. You can see it click.”

When are classes?+
Three weekly sessions at The Ceramic Studio, Indooroopilly: Sundays 3pm (beginner, 2hr, $100 or $145 with a glazing class), Thursdays 5:30–8:30pm (open studio, $50 drop-in or $180 for a 4-pack), and Saturdays 3pm (glazing, up to 2hr, $60/piece).
I've never done pottery — where do I start?+
The Sunday 3pm beginner class. Two hours, throw three pieces, keep one. $145 bundles a glazing Saturday in the next month (pick it at checkout) so you can finish the piece yourself, or $100 if you'd rather Bodhi glaze it for you.
What's the Thursday class like?+
Open studio. Come in with whatever you want to work on — a form you're practising, a piece you're finishing, or just more wheel time. Bodhi's there to guide and support what you're doing. Three hours of studio time, drop in for the last two if 5:30pm is tight.
How does the glazing class work?+
Saturdays 3pm, up to two hours — faster if you're quick. Pick from a selection of bisqueware at booking (Keep Cup, Matcha Bowl, or Mug to start, more shapes coming). $60 per piece, up to three pieces per session. Beginner-combo customers pick their glazing Saturday at checkout.
What to bring+
Just yourself, in clothes you don't mind getting clay on. Wheel tools and aprons are all at the bench. Clay and firing are purchased on the day — only pay for what you actually throw and keep.
How much does clay and firing cost+
Clay: $5/kg or $33 for a full bag. Bisque firing: $10/kg. Cone 6 glaze firing: $4 per 100g. You only pay for pieces you take through to firing, so a session where nothing survives costs you the class fee and whatever clay you used.
Cancellation + reschedule policy+
No refunds within 24 hours of the class. Outside that, message @bodhiswan to reschedule — happy to move you to another session at no cost.
Does my 4-pack expire+
Your four sessions are locked in at checkout, so pick dates you can make. Rescheduling outside the 24-hour window is always free — just DM.
Where is the studio+
The Ceramic Studio, Shop 4 & 6, 8 Station Road, Indooroopilly. Free parking behind the studio off Coonan Street. Short walk from Indooroopilly train station.
Can I buy a class as a gift+
Yep. Book as normal and use the giftee's name and email — they'll get the Stripe receipt. DM @bodhiswan if you want a printable gift note.
What about private lessons+
One-on-one time at the wheel. $100 for the first hour, $79 for each extra hour. Pay through the site, exact time confirmed by Instagram DM.
New class dates drop on Instagram first.
Behind-the-scenes throwing, kiln openings, and first access when the next term releases.
