Terms and Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before booking classes

1. Booking and Payment Terms

Payment Schedule

All class fees are due at the end of each session unless otherwise arranged. We accept cash, card, and bank transfer payments.

Additional Costs

Clay, firing, and glazing costs are separate from class fees. These will be calculated based on usage and charged at the end of each session. Typical costs range from $8-30 per session depending on the amount of clay used and pieces fired.

2. Cancellation and Refund Policy

Student Cancellations

  • 24+ hours notice: Full refund or class credit available
  • 12-24 hours notice: 50% refund or full class credit
  • Less than 12 hours notice: No refund, class credit may be offered at instructor's discretion
  • No-shows: No refund or credit

Studio Cancellations

If we need to cancel a class due to unforeseen circumstances, you will receive full refund or the option to reschedule at no additional cost.

3. Studio Guidelines and Safety

Health and Safety

  • Closed-toe shoes must be worn in the studio at all times
  • Long hair must be tied back when working
  • Please inform the instructor of any allergies or health conditions
  • Students must follow all safety instructions provided by the instructor

Studio Conduct

  • Respectful behavior towards instructor and other students is required
  • Mobile phones should be on silent and used minimally during class
  • Food and drink are not permitted near the pottery wheels or work areas
  • Students are responsible for cleaning their workspace after each session

4. Pottery Care and Collection

Pottery Storage

Finished pieces must be collected within 8 weeks of completion. After this period, unclaimed pieces may be disposed of or donated to make room for other students' work.

Breakage and Loss

While we take great care with all pottery, breakage can occur during the drying, firing, or glazing process. This is a natural part of ceramics, and no compensation will be provided for pieces that break during normal studio processes.

5. Liability and Insurance

Personal Responsibility

Students participate in pottery classes at their own risk. Bodhi Swan Ceramics is not responsible for any personal injury, loss, or damage to personal property during classes.

Studio Equipment

Students are responsible for any damage to studio equipment caused by misuse or failure to follow instructions. Repair or replacement costs may be charged to the student.

6. Privacy and Photography

Photography Consent

By attending classes, students consent to being photographed for promotional and educational purposes. If you prefer not to be photographed, please inform the instructor.

Personal Information

Personal information collected during booking is used solely for class coordination and communication. We do not share your information with third parties without consent.

7. Weekly Membership Terms

Membership Benefits

Weekly memberships at $50/week provide priority booking, discounted rates, and consistent skill development. Membership begins after attending your first drop-in class.

Membership Cancellation

Weekly memberships require 2 weeks notice for cancellation. No refunds for partial weeks, but unused weeks can be used as class credits within 3 months.

8. General Terms

Changes to Terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. Students will be notified of significant changes, and continued participation constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes will be resolved through direct communication first. If resolution cannot be reached, disputes will be handled according to Queensland law.
